Event Information
Celebrate the athletes and regions represented in this year’s Games of Texas during a free, family-friendly evening. The Opening Ceremonies honor the hard work and achievements of competitors from across the state with music, activities, fireworks and more.

Friday, Aug. 1
Schedule
- 6 p.m. – Gates open.
- 6-7 p.m. – Activities include chalk art, a Texas-sized selfie station, apparel sales, and food vendors.
- 7-7:10 p.m. – Welcome from emcee/DJ Adonis, followed by the national anthem performed by Amerie Contreras.
- 7:15-7:20 p.m. – Lighting of the flame by Athletes of the Year.
- 7:20-8 p.m. – Athlete walk-in ceremony.
- 8-8:30 p.m. – Remarks from College Station City Councilman William Wright; Parks and Recreation directors from the cities of Bryan and College Station; Athletes of the Year; and the president of the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation.
- 8:30–8:45 p.m. – Fireworks show with a curated music playlist.

Amenities
Games of Texas apparel will be available for purchase. Food trucks will be available. Guests may bring their own refreshments, but coolers must be 48 quarts or smaller and alcohol and glass containers are not allowed.
Parking
Free parking is available at Post Oak Mall (JCPenny side). Parking tags not required. Overnight parking and RVs not permitted
